Again, Free Papua Armed Separatists Kill Civilians and Cause Internally Displaced People
The Free Papua armed separatists have been constantly killing and injuring civilians by burning a missionary plane (06/01/21), killing a native Papuan (30/02/21), shooting a civilian of Makassar descent on the cheek (08/02/21). Armed separatists also stabbed a migrant to death (09/02/21), slashed a housewife (16/02/21), causing 1,000 residents of Intan Jaya to flee in fear of being separatists next victim to Bilogai Parish of Saint Michael.
Reaping what they have been sowing, a Free Papua armed separatists was killed in a gun battle with security forces for 2.5 hours in Ilaga, Puncak (19/02/21). The gunbattle started when 10 armed separatists suddenly opened fire on security forces securing Amenggaru Airport, Ilaga, at 09:20 local time. The shootout lasted 2.5 hours, and an armed separatist named Terah Wanmang was killed.
Free Papua armed separatists are a group of cowardly terrorists. The armed group spread propaganda to seek sympathy and cover up their weaknesses every time their members are shot. The propaganda was exposed with separatists; inconsistent lies! The armed group spokesperson and online activist Veronica Koman confirmed that Terah Wanmang was indeed a Papuan armed separatist. Do separatists think that they can easily deceive the people of Papua? Terah Wanmang was clearly killed after a 2.5-hour gun battle with the authorities. How could the gunman be a civilian?
Fake propaganda is used by separatists to ignite the fires of the Free Papua conflict, get international attention so that the existence of separatists can continue to exist, and attract donors from foreign parties and corporations. Separatists fostered conflict to escalate Papua’s issue to be sold to donors such as the British Labor, the Australian Greens, and the New Zealand Greens for economic and power motives.
And behind this foreign party, some corporations are eyeing Papua’s natural resources or interested in the conflict that occurred in Papua. Do you want to lie, what model? This is a recurring pattern that armed separatists always carry out: terrorizing, forcing residents to flee, then accusing the authorities of making residents afraid and displacing.
This pattern was also carried out by separatists when 3 armed separatists were killed in Intan Jaya. Separatists tried to cover up and claim the three were civilians even though the evidence stated otherwise.
First, there is Janius Bagau’s name in a letter of declaration of armed separatist warfare to the apparatus delivered by the priest after the separatists killed a Papuan native, Boni Bagau (30/1).
The second proof, circulating a photo of Janius Bagau carrying a rifle on social media! After matching it with his KTP photo, it was proven that Janius was indeed a member of the armed separatists!
Acting innocent, separatists throw away their responsibility by distorting the facts through the media, making the narrative appear as if the authorities are causing residents to fear and flee. How can anyone still be blinded by crazy separatist groups who often exploit children and women?
Armed separatists even proudly announced to the international media Associated Press (2019) that armed separatists train child soldiers, teach children to fight, wield guns and kill! Armed separatists do not hesitate to kidnap teachers and nurses (3/10/18) and even take turns raping a teacher (7/10/18). These various killings have made armed separatists the most prominent human rights violators in Papua. They have committed at least 118 crimes from 2010 to May 2020.
Residents were forced to flee for fear of the savagery of armed separatists. What kind of people’s struggle only spreads terror and fear to local residents?
